Finally after a weeks worth of mixing we were able to get The Missus Suck! Live! album ready for download availability. However after all that hard work your wildest dreams have now been fulfilled. Get your “The Missus Suck! Live!” album free for download by clicking the link below.

Coming soon, “The Missus Suck!” Plus new dates, new single

March 24th, 2009

Hey there,

Lot of cool stuff coming up on the Missus front, including a new, free live bootleg called The Missus Suck! Live From Ryan’s House that captures the band in all their imperfect, somewhat inebriated glory at Ryan & Amy Peterson’s house party March 21, 2009.

We’ve also got two dates in Dallas, March 27 @ the Lounge on Elm with the Mean Spirits and Bastardos de Sancho and Street Hassle, as well as an upcoming TBD show at the Lakewood Bar & Grill April 2. Come check it out!

Finally, the Missus had the pleasure of spending some time at Janesound Studios in Arlington with Dan and Garry (cool guys) cutting a Valence Beam/Puppy in a Pail single for your listening pleasure. We’ll have it streaming online and available at shows in the very near future.

Date Added TONIGHT!!!

New site in the works …

February 23rd, 2009

Hey Missuses!

I know you DFW music fans are sitting at home, eagerly stroking your Fu Manchu and polishing your glasses (or possibly tying back your beautiful blonde dreads), waiting for a new post on themissusband.com, so have no fear–I’m hear to talk to you guys!

Pauly’s building a new Web site as we speak to correspond with our upcoming shows and our new single. I’m not sure when it’ll be up, but my guess is that it will be soon. What I have seen of it, I’ve loved. Plus, it’s time to rest your eyes from all this red happenin’ ’round here.

Let’s see, what else is new? We practiced this weekend and the energy level was through the roof. We worked on a few new tunes that sound pretty damn good. Ryan and I are going to see the Tommorow People play the Fairmount next weekend and King Kahn & The Shrines are going to be in Dallas in March.

I think I’m out of band news. Later, y’all!

"This is going to be good, right? I can trust you?"

My friend Ky designed our “Puppy in a Pail”poster. He’s an excellent graphic designer, and he has more of his work at his Ky Lewis Design website.

I’ve worked with Ky at many magazines and other projects for many years. I really like his work–check it out!

The Missus in the studio

February 20th, 2009

Your fine, fearless friends in The Missus will be hitting the studio in March 21 to cut a single. We’re excited to record, but for now, we’re going to keep the title of the single and the A-side/B-side a secret, but check back for more info soon!

A word on Pauly’s past …

February 19th, 2009

Back in the day, or now-drummer-then-bass-player Pauly Barnes used to play for a little Tarrant indie band called St*rlet.

So, this once and all for proves that Pauly is a totally legit rocker. Once an awesome bass player, now a sweet drummer–I’m pretty sure this makes him the Paul McCartney of our band. And the Ringo. He holds both positions. I’m afraid I might be John. Not for the talent, but because I’m a verbally abusive drunk.

He’s been in some other bands, but he hasn’t shared as much about them with us. St*rlet were on this Green Light Go compilation, which is still for sale and is totally worth checking out!
